Revelation Online <天谕>

Some of us that plays games plenty would heard of this game called Revelation Online. It is a MMORPG game made in China. As half Chinese, I don't really play any Chinese MMOs simply because i keep trying them but some how most of them are not very polished. For example;

• The graphics look out of date
• The environment & characters doesn't look well blended.
• The combat animation isn't very smooth
• Classes seem to have all the same feel. Play 1 class = played all classes.

And, Now we can talk about Revelation Online. After playing the game for a good three days I found out that it also have some of the same problems as I listed above.

Food: It's the season to be snacking

I normally don't snack, not because I don't like to snack I just like to control my snacking to the minimum. If I get really hungry I would eat a banana, drink sweet tea or just eat candy. But not this time. This is why i should never go in to Asian stores o3o I buy snacks! They all look very delicious. Here is what I got and they are already gone =3=

Everything is about competition

I had enough.

Motherland China here, so a lot of times I like to hear Chinese ppl talk or so, it feels closer to me. So lately i have been watching streams at a Chinese stream site.

After a week of watching I noticed it is all about competition. Every day there is a voting event, one channel vs another channel set up by the site. And, because of that all you see is Chinese streamers begging for votes and ass kissing the viewers that gives them loads of votes, so they can win the VS. TM的有意思吗？？ Ok i understand 1 or 2 hours you can mention it to have ppl vote for you but the channel that does it 10 to 30mins of begging, every 5mins PLZ! 你是牛吗？哦不对，应该是马， 马屁拍得真响！还要不要节操啦? And so, the Chinese stream site lasted a week.

 

Tomoe: Finding a Character

A lot of times finding your 1st character to cosplay is really hard. We always have too many characters to pick from or don't even know which character to pick. Either way being indecisive / no time / not motivated enough, are probably some of the reason you haven't started yet.

To pick out a character to cosplay you have to have feelings / some type of interest for that character. You really don't have to LOVE the character to cosplay one, but you have to WANT to cosplay it. If you don't have the interest you might end up quitting in the middle of your costume making or just cosplay it once and really not interested of putting it on again. So, with that in mind I'll show you how  I pick out a character out of ten for myself to cosplay.

Since there are so many character 1st thing i normally do is pull up a picture of each character. And, have them in front of me on my computer screen.

Next, I list priorities. Detail/ Popularity / Personality/ Personal Interest/ Budget
Write down these five catgores and number them 1 to 5 [1= most important, 5= least important] For me it's: 1 Budget > 2 Detail > 3 Popularity > 4 Personal Interest > 5 Personality

Now the Elimination: Normally this way I can get it down to one - three characters and then I will hand pick.

• Set a Budget [example: $300]: Since I picked budget as my most important one, I will need to think about how much I want to spend on each cosplay and the ones that I can't afford right now I will have to cross them out. [I normally just think about it in my head and come up with a rough number] So, anything you think passes 300 dollars don't look twice o3o!

• Detail of the Costume: Straight up and forward! You guys already know I love to pick cosplay that have good details and colors. Like; Sessomaru, Kouen, Chikage, Taishi Nai and so. Therefore in my list of character at this point I will probably eliminate characters that have some what plain costumes [example: jerseys, school uniforms, shirt and shorts, etc.]

• Popularity: This is probably the least important to some people. I personally like to cosplay things that are easier to recognize. Why is this so hard for me to explain? Example: If you are at a convention and see a character that you know of, you have feels, you get excited and that is the feel i want to give to ppl. 0v0 It feels good to know what character it is ;A;!

• Personal Interest: By this time I think I probably only have about 3 to 4 characters left in my list, then I will go by who I like the best. "Well, duh Hushy, I started off with ten that I like so I like them all, and YES I like them all equally!!". In this case move on to the last choice.

• Pick it out by Personality: In other words, picking it out by which character you like to RP. As for me I don't really RP. No matter who I'm cosplaying I am me. But when you pose for the camera you have to have a few poses and that I consider RP'ing for a brief three seconds. So I will probably think about who's temperament [using the word right? ] i can represent the best.

Normally I don't really need this many steps to find a character. But, budget, detail and personal interest are the once that I always consider when I'm picking out a character. I hope this helps some of you to pick out a character and get started it 0v0!

Comic King Original Interview

So, I did share this on FaceBook about a interview I have done with Comic King. Comic King is a Malaysia based E-magazine company featuring Otaku, Anime, Manga, and Artist related articles. If you are interested you can check out their APP [Only in Chinese, for: IOS & Android]. 

I have done interviews with different ppl before but this one I found the interview questions very detailed, thought through, and the article layout is very neat. Since the interview was done in English they also took the time to translate it  to Chinese which I was excited to read [yes i can read and speak Chinese but not good enough to sound sophisticated].

Ok, thank god this was done in English 1st so a translation for my little sheep [小羊羔们 Sounds so much better in Chinese (๑>ᴗ<๑)] won't be too long, since I'm sick. Let's get started!

This is just a introduction I'm not too sure how to translate this part since my Chinese is not so great. It's basically saying this time we interviewed the coser and photographer, Hushy Plushy, let's go straight in to what he have to say.

How did you start your first Cosplay?

I am a late bloomer, during college years I finally got in to Anime. Two years ago I finally decided that I love anime so much I want to bring 2D in to 3D of my own version.

Why Cosplay always attracted you? What are your greatest pleasure in Cosplay?

Because of my love for Anime is so deep It became an addiction! And, the greatest pleasure in Cosplay would be when I finish all the crafting, styling and makeup, puts everything on and finished. That moment I feel complete and satisfied.

What are the selection criteria of the chosen role?

Wide range of reasons; some are because they are truly beautiful; some are my favorite characters and others because I think it fits my personality or looks.

What type of role you most prefer? Why?

I prefer bishie or ikemen with fancy, detailed costumes such as, Sesshomaru, Squall Leonhart and Kouen Ren.

When you Cos your favorite Character, Which part  is the most attention part for you?

Oh god, I think that’s for everyone else to judge. But, most of the time I get compliment on my make up. So most attention goes to my face I assume.

What is the most important thing for presented an awesome Cosplay?

Most important thing when you presenting a great cosplay is completion in my opinion, such as having your make up, props and costume all together and you didn’t forget something.

How do you complete or making your clothing,Armor, hair style, props or make-up?

This is a hard question that needs a lot of details to answer. But, I generally try to use materials that are easily accessible and not too high end. I like the challenge of making awesome stuff from low end materials.

Besides Cosplay, You also a cosplay photographer, Why do you learn Photography?

Photography is also a big hobby of my. At the beginning I didn’t really care about photography that much but the more I stand in front of the camera the more I feel like I can also try to stand behind the camera to show people what is really in my head. Also, sometimes I want to shoot my own photos but there aren't two of me TvT lol. So at least I can shoot other coser behind the camera o3o.

Can you share some Cosplay shooting tips to our readers?

Oh geez, since I have only been cosplaying for two years. There are so many better coser out there could give out great tips. I guess I will say when shooting; be bold, be out there, be open minded, be energetic, be professional and don’t forget to enjoy every moment of it.
